3 day liveaboard to acquire cruising skills
Our unique approach: Consider ASA 104 as a mini-cruise that lasts 3 days with 2 nights on board. You will circumnavigate Narragansett Bay entering multiple harbors with lots of anchoring practice and close-quarter maneuvering under power.

How is it taught?
- Prerequisite: ASA 101 & ASA 103
- 3 consecutive days on board
- Spend two nights on board
- Sail in Narragansett Bay and nearby waters
- Enter several harbors
- Drop anchor and get moorings
- Maximum 4 students per class
- Tests and theory on board or in classroom
What will you be able to do after ASA 104?
- Bareboat a 35-45 feet boat anywhere in the world
- Obtain your International Proficiency Certificate (IPC)
- Join ASA 105 and106 class
- Rent one of our boat and sail in the bay.

What will I be able to do with ASA 104?
At the end of this course, a student will have the skills to take a 35’ to 40’ boat out for multiple days and will have Bareboat Certification recognized by most charter charter companies worldwide
Will I be able to charter a bareboat?
You will be able to charter a boat anywhere in the world because your ASA 104 certification is internationally recognized
Will I sail a lot?
Yes. Narragansett Sailing School philosophy is to provide as much hands-on experience as possible. This 3-day class will give you ample time to trim the sails, steer the boat and check boat parts and systems.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Dealing with bad weather is part of the sailing experience. But no worries we will not put you on the water if it is not safe. We adapt the class to the weather conditions and we will cancel or reschedule if we cannot sail at all. Please see our cancellation policies
What is next?
We offer several opportunities to improve your knowledge and skills after ASA 104. You can charter one of our boats and sail in the bay with family and friends. You can either join one practice sailing session, enroll for ASA 105 and 106 or join our weekend cruise . Each option brings you something different, so the choice is yours!
