New to Sailing? Taste the water!
Are you a beginner? Do you want to know if sailing is good for you?
This program is designed for you:
- Enjoy half-day on the water with a pro instructor
- Learn basic sailing principles
- Hands-on! we give you the helm
- Participate to the maneuvers
- No classroom, no tests, just fun
Who can join and when?
This program is open to everyone:
- People with no sailing or boating experience
- Family with children (6 years old minimum)
- People who sailed a long time ago
- Whoverer wants to enjoy sailing in Narragansett Bay
- Afternoons from 1pm to 5pm
How does it work?
It is very simple, you just need to show up and we take you on board for an afternoon of fun and discovery on the water.
We adapt the program to your needs and we show you the best of sailing.
We will spend about 4 hours on the water in Upper Narragansett Bay, the best sailing playground in Rhode Island.
You will board one of our sailboats with a professional skipper and instructor.
Fun learning experiences
We are a school so we like teaching! Discover sailing sessions are a great opportunity to learn while having a lot of fun:
- Sailing in clear and protected water: Safe and fun
- Learn basic sailing and boating terms but no worries, we will not bother you with too many complicated words!
- A bit of sail trimming
- If you want, you will be able to take the helm and drive the boat.
Don’t worry: if you haven’t understood anything that’s been said, it’s normal, you’re still an earthling! You are on board to discover what sailing is about. Your instructor is here to answer your question and to share his passion
What’s next after Discover Sailing?
Many students continue with ASA 101, others simply enjoy the experience. Either way, it’s the perfect first step on the water.
