Narragansett Sailing school

Our School Fleet

Our fleet: Train on real cruising boats. Learn real sailing

Our goal is to teach real cruising. That’s why we don’t use boats built only for instruction. Our students train on true cruising sailboats, the same type of boats used for coastal passages and offshore sailing.

We give students hands-on experience with real systems, real handling, and real decision-making on the water.

  • True cruising sailboats — not training-only boats
  • 30 to 42 feet, selected to match each ASA course
  • Wheel steering for modern cruising skills
  • Inboard diesel engines for proper engine handling and maneuvering
  • Solid, seaworthy construction suitable for coastal and offshore sailing
  • Smaller boats for ASA 101 & 103, larger boats for ASA 104, 105 & 106

Learning on real cruising boats means you graduate with practical skills, real confidence, and experience that transfers directly to chartering or owning your own boat.
